'We’re chuffed to bits' - Tizzard has plenty to look forward to after double
Sunday: Ffos Las
Joe Tizzard landed a stylish double with Ilovethenightlife and The Changing Man – both sons of Walk In The Park, and both ridden Brendan Powell.
Ilovethenightlife returned from a 199-day break to take the opening 2m mares’ novice hurdle on her jumping debut.
The four-year-old was wayward over her hurdles early on, but kicked clear at the second-last to score by seven and a half lengths.
Tizzard said: “We’re chuffed to bits with her. It was her first run over hurdles, but she’s done it nicely.
“She’s always worked well at home and has filled out through the summer. We don’t need to rush her as she’s only four and hopefully she can be a good one for the future.”
The Changing Man ran out an impressive winner of the 2m4f handicap hurdle to make it back-to-back victories after scoring at Stratford in March.
L'Isle battles to victory
Faitque De L'Isle got off the mark for Michael Scudamore in the 3m handicap chase under Charlie Deutsch.
The seven-year-old made steady progress to lead on the home turn but was forced to dig deep to hold off 2-5 favourite Jean Genie.
