Willie Mullins and Paul Townend enjoyed a sensational Cheltenham and their week took a further good turn when Salsaretta maintained her unbeaten chase record in the Grade 2 mares' novice chase at Limerick.

The Susannah Ricci-owned seven-year-old, a dual winner over hurdles, was registering her first Graded success but had to contend with the loose Tintangle after she unseated her rider two out.

Racing is taking place at Limerick behind closed doors with the measures implemented in Ireland until March 29 at the earliest.

Townend said: "I might have got the rub of the green again! But then again I was going well enough and I would have made a race of it. It could have been down to a good jump in the end.”

Sent off the 2-5 favourite, Salsaretta and Townend were content to settle in second and no questions had been asked up the straight before Elliott's charge unseated Luke Dempsey.

Ask Mary, a 50-1 chance, finished second ahead of Moskovite.

Well Set Up seals poignant Grade 3 success for connections

A final-flight mistake by Lady Breffni proved costly in the Grade 3 mares' novice hurdle as the Mark Fahey-trained Well Set Up capitalised to land the €35,500 event.

Having taking over the lead midway in the 2m6f contest, the seven-year-old showed plenty of resolve to strike in the dramatic closing stages.

Fahey said: "Her owner-breeder Jean Corrigan passed away about a month ago. The whole family will be proud and Jean got great craic out of her and it's a great pity she's not here.

"The next plan is for her to go in foal to Getaway, but she might stay going to take in the 2m4f Grade 1 at Fairyhouse. She's been a lifesaver to me and it's a great day.”

It was a return to winning ways for Well Set Up, who was a well-beaten fifth at Punchestown in February. Before that she had finished runner-up to Albert Bartlett third Fury Road in a Grade 2 at Limerick over Christmas.

Cheveley Park's Larquebuse, sent off the 6-4 favourite for Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell, finished a well-beaten fifth.
