'We might go to Fairyhouse and Punchestown with him' - smart Road To Home gives Patrick Mullins another British winner

Patrick Mullins ticked off another course on his British tour as Road To Home justified 2-9 favouritism in the 2m maiden hurdle, opening up options with the promising youngster at the major spring festivals.

Mullins, who has been riding in Britain more frequently this season, kept things simple on the six-year-old, who raced prominently and travelled strongly before comfortably getting the better of He's Bresilian by a length and a half.

"His jumping at speed needs work as at the second-last and the last he was a bit careful," the rider told Sky Sports Racing. "I don't mind that too much, but I wanted to win as easy as I could because we might go to Fairyhouse and Punchestown with him. I think he's a nice horse.

"I said to Rachel Robins, who brought him over, we might come back here for a chase with this fella. Pete Davies, who owns him, let me buy him a few horses and it's much appreciated. Hopefully they can keep doing well."

Road To Home caused a stir when he ran out and jumped the wrong obstacle in a race at Naas in February

Mullins' last British winner was at Haydock last Wednesday when he partnered Jarrive De Mee to a staggeringly easy victory at odds of 1-2. However, he was out of luck at Plumpton just before the Cheltenham Festival when More Coko was beaten at Plumpton at 1-8.

Lad scores

Halfway House Lad backed up his recent Newcastle win with victory in the 3m novice handicap chase for Charlie Price and Maurice Barnes.
