The Trevor Hemmings silks will always be synonymous with Aintree and the leading owner is building another formidable Randox Health Grand National team after Warriors Tale reinforced his credentials with a gutsy success in the Grand Sefton Chase.

Hemmings bought Warriors Tale before last season's National, in which the Paul Nicholls-trained nine-year-old showed up well for a long way before his stamina appeared to ebb away.

Over this shorter trip he defied top weight tenaciously to win from long-time leader Brandon Hill, after which his National odds were cut to 33-1 (from 50) by bet365.
