Veteran Showboating wins for ninth time on 99th career start
Nine-year-old Showboating returned to winning ways on his 99th appearance when landing the mile handicap under Danny Tudhope, who brought him from off the pace to win for the ninth time and for the third time on the course.
He has been a shrewd purchase by former trainer Alan McCabe, who still has a share in him, as he paid 5,500gns for him at Newmarket in July 2011.
McCabe trained him to win six races, but he is now in the care of John Balding, who said: "He's a legend of a horse. He always gives his all and the handicapper gave him a chance as he let us run him in a 0-80 for the first time for a while.
