'Very talented' Amiloc stays unbeaten with Cocked Hat demolition and Royal Ascot among exciting future plans

Amiloc will head to Royal Ascot after extending his unbeaten record to four with a dominant display in the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes.

He shot up the pecking order in an enviable list of three-year-old middle-distance horses for last season's Arc-winning trainer Ralph Beckett when sprinting four lengths clear of stablemate Sir Dinadan.

As a gelding, he is unable to join stablemate and the fellow David Aykroyd-owned Dante winner Pride Of Arras in the Derby, but Beckett could consider either the King Edward VII Stakes or Queen's Vase for his next start.

"He races a lot better than his work and he's obviously very talented," Beckett told Racing TV. "His dam [Colima] was tricky and it's never been that straightforward. Gelding him early helped him early so we'll see what happens.

"When he was racing lazily I was thinking come on pal, but when he loomed up it was all obvious that it was going to work out.

"It's a difficult one, I think the second is a Queen's Vase horse, but he might be as effective with some juice in the ground and that'll always be a help to him. The winner could be a Queen's Vase horse too. We'll put him in everything, he's in the Eclipse and so we'll see."

'She's very classy'

Richard Hannon has no doubt Amo Racing's Indigo Dawn will become a Group-level performer after her winning debut in the 6f maiden fillies' stakes.

The 75,000gns breeze-up buy by Nando Parrado held off Coming Attraction to score. She was sent off 5-2 joint favourite with Blue Nguru, who finished third.

"She's a very nice filly and classy too," Hannon said. "Hopefully she can step up to better things. I don't know if she'll be an Ascot filly or not but I've no doubt she's up to Group class. I'm sure all roads lead to Ascot as she's owned by Mr Kia [Joorabchian]."

Surprise result

Victoria Harbour caused a 12-1 upset in the Listed Height Of Fashion Stakes for Karl Burke and Pierre-Louis Jamin when holding off Music Piece by a neck.

Narrow winner

French Master was cut to 12-1 (from 14s) with Betfair Sportsbook for the Northumberland Plate after a last-gasp win in the 1m6f handicap. The 5-4 favourite just pipped Story Horse on the line under Robert Havlin on his first start at a distance longer than a mile and a half.
