Ventura Secret keeps Middleham Park numbers mounting

Racing may have become a game of numbers for some but that does not stop being able to marvel at some of their achievements. Step forward both Middleham Park Racing and trainer Mark Johnston – both of whom added another winner separately as they march on towards astounding numbers.

Middleham Park Racing struck first with Ventura Secret, who doubled his career tally by adding to his 5f two-year-old success after stepping into the unknown in the mile handicap under Rachel Richardson for Tim Easterby.

The racing syndicate's partner Mike Prince, busy at the Tattersalls Sales in Newmarket looking to add to the 100 horses in training this year, said: "The step up in trip has worked a treat and Rachel, who also got on well with our Captain Dunne to ride him to four wins, settled him really well and he's seen out the trip nicely.
