Varian hopeful Postponed can kick start fruitful autumn

Roger Varian hopes he can put a difficult summer behind him with a successful autumn – starting with Postponed in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly on Sunday.

A virus that kept Postponed out of the King George spread through Varian's Newmarket yard, affecting numerous potential runners in July and August. However, Postponed returned to land the Juddmonte International at York last month and Varian is now hoping the enforced quiet spell could help him win some of the big prizes remaining as the Flat season reaches its climax.
