Trustyourinstinct takes advantage of drop in class as he powers clear in Orby Stakes for Joseph O'Brien and JP McManus

Trustyourinstinct made light work of his rivals in the Listed Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Orby Stakes when storming four lengths clear to justify 5-4 favouritism and land his second stakes success for Joseph O'Brien and owner JP McManus.
The versatile five-year-old was a Tramore maiden hurdle winner 12 months ago but he excels on the Flat, with five wins from 12 starts. He produced a career-best when taking a Group 3 at Leopardstown in September over a mile and a half before going on his travels the last two times, finishing runner-up in a Group 2 in Italy and coming home eighth in the Neom Turf Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Back on home soil, he finished third on his last two starts and had two Group 1 horses in Los Angeles and White Birch ahead of him at the track last time. The step back up to a mile and a half worked a treat here as Dylan Browne McMonagle always looked in control, hitting the front at the furlong pole.
"He’s a lovely horse, very consistent and loves it here at the Curragh," said O'Brien. "He’s a home-bred of JP and Noreen’s and everybody will get an extra kick out of that. He always turns up and runs his race. Dropping down into Listed class today, he’s won impressively. We’ve run him internationally a few times and we might look at that again."

Delight for James
The Group 2 Weatherbys Greenlands Stakes went for export for the fourth year in a row as the Clive Cox-trained James's Delight showed all his resolution to fend off fellow raider Lethal Levi by a short-head under Oisin Murphy, who was steering home his second winner of the race after Art Power in 2023.
After two below-par efforts this year, he went off a 22-1 chance but stuck his neck out in a bunched finish, which included the fast-finishing Big Gossey in third on his 41st start at the Curragh.
Apercu toughs it out again
There are not many mares around tougher than the Andy Oliver-trained Apercu and she showed her battling qualities again to land the 1m2f €50,000 Tulfarris Hotel Handicap for the Tyrone stable.
Ridden by Billy Lee, Apercu hit the front as they straightened and was there to be shot at the whole way up the run-in but she battled tremendously to deny Cloud Seeker by a short-head at 9-1.
Oliver said: "She was enjoying herself and was going sweetly. She battles and when the horse came back at her she just kept finding. Barry Irwin, CEO of Team Valor [owners], has been a great supporter of mine over the years. We have a few together as well at the moment. It’s an exciting venture."
Moore treble and British domination
Ryan Moore rode a 33-1 treble, bookending the card with maiden wins for his boss Aidan O'Brien, while also claiming the €100,000 Emerald Mile Handicap on Skukuza for Ed Dunlop who skipped two and a quarter lengths clear at odds of 9-2 and sealed an excellent day for the British raiding party who landed the three most valuable races.
The O'Brien-trained Brussels kicked off the combination when beating stablemate Kansas in the opening 6f maiden at 11-4, while Propose finished proceedings with a dominant victory by three and a half lengths in the closing 1m2f maiden, justifying 8-13 favouritism.
