Gary Moore has experienced more than the majority in racing but he will be treading new ground as he plots a path to the Randox Health Grand National for Saturday’s tenacious Sodexo Gold Cup winner Traffic Fluide.

After a spell in the wilderness, the former 162-rated chaser began to recapture his form last season and he has started the current season in the same form, following up a second-place finish at Chepstow with a never-say-die effort to scoop this £100,000 contest.

“I’ve never trained a horse for the Grand National before but if I’ve ever had one I think is made for it, it’s him,” said Moore. “I need to work it out but I doubt he’d run again until a month before Aintree.”
