Nicky Henderson celebrated being champion trainer for a fifth time with a near 31-1 four-timer to stamp his continuing authority on jump racing in Britain.

Top Notch, Altior and then Call Me Lord and Soul Emotion had Henderson cheekily wishing "the season had ended yesterday and we had these in the bank already instead of starting back on zero".

With two of the quartet mere five-year-olds with big futures, none of his potential 2018-2019 title rivals will be fancying their chances, not even Paul Nicholls, whose long reign Henderson ended last season.
