Tommy's Oscar success lifts Ann Hamilton yard for big weekend with Nuts Well
Ann Hamilton, who will saddle Old Roan Chase winner Nuts Well in the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase on Sunday, warmed up for another big weekend in pleasing fashion as Tommy's Oscar became her third winner of the season.
Experienced point-to-pointer Tommy's Oscar only recently joined Hamilton's small yard in Northumberland and finished second on his rules debut in a Newcastle bumper three weeks ago before going one better here in the 2m1f maiden hurdle.
Winning jockey Danny McMenamin, who will ride Nuts Well at Huntingdon, said: "He ran very well in his bumper and just got beat but he knows his job. Ian [Hamilton, owner] was a bit nervous there but I think he’s all right now.
