The lovely people who own handicap sensation Tobefair come together as the Down The Quay Club. It is highly likely once home from Newbury they will have headed down the Quay in order to go down the pub. That's where many happy memories were made.

The Cresselly Arms on Cresswell Quay in Pembrokeshire does not do much in the way of food except for crisps and pork scratchings. You don't go there for a sourdough sandwich but you might go there to buy a horse. That's what the ten ladies who collectively own one-seventeenth of Tobefair did.

One of them, Marion Merriman, is more accustomed to point-to-points but on Saturday is at Newbury, where the Debra Hamer-trained star wins his seventh consecutive handicap, 53lb higher in the ratings than for the first victory.
