A scintillating victory for Ubettabelieveit in the National Stakes left trainer Nigel Tinkler drawing comparisons between the best horses he has trained in his 38-year career and fantasising about what his star two-year-old can achieve next.

Making his first start since winning emphatically at Doncaster, the son of Kodiac breezed from last to first on the bridle and powered to the line under Oisin Murphy to beat Wings Of A Dove by a length and a half. Favourite Eye Of Heaven finished last of the six runners.

Ubettabelieveit's Sandown win provided North Yorkshire-based Tinkler with his first domestic Listed winner in 20 years. The last came when stable legend Sugarfoot won the Summer Mile, then called the Silver Trophy Stakes and at Listed level, in 2000.
