Casinos usually come out on top in the end so no-one should have been too surprised at the success of Come On Tier.

The first horse owned by a five-strong syndicate from Genting Casinos looked to be up against it second time out, taking on Godolphin's 1.2 million guineas Derby entry Ispolini in division two of the 1m½f juvenile maiden.

But the 8-11 favourite lost four lengths when rearing at the start and, well though he kept on, could finish no closer than fourth behind the David Simcock-trained winner, who struck by three and three-quarter lengths, looking worth his €65,000 purchase price.
