Tide turns in Lynam's favour as trainer warms up for Abbaye bid with a winner
Bellewstown is fast becoming this year's go-to place to warm up for Arc weekend at Longchamp.
Frankie Dettori will be in action on the hill of Crockafotha on Thursday ahead of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, while Eddie Lynam, who runs stable star Romantic Proposal in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp on Sunday, sent out a winner at the County Meath track on Wednesday with Tide Of Time landing the sprint handicap.
Ridden by Dylan Brown McMonagle, Tide Of Time was recording his seventh career success.
The rider said: "He had a bad stumble out over the road the last day. I thought he put the race to bed very easy then, but I met it wrong and That's Mad got up and beat me.
"He went on to win a premier handicap on Sunday so the form was good coming here and I was fairly confident."
Brown McMonagle added: "They went a real good gallop in front and I had plenty of horse to get the split whenever I wanted it. He got there very easily.
"The ground was slow as well which was right up his street. He should progress again on a big galloping track and softer ground."
