Three runners to note from Newmarket's juvenile day

Forward Thinker, 5th, 7f fillies' novice median auction
It paid to be handy in this race, with winner Timpani and runner-up Left Alone prominent throughout, whereas Forward Thinker was closer to the rear. The daughter of Dream Ahead made nice headway down the centre for Jamie Spencer and was closing all the way to the line. She could get closer if seen again this season.

Crack On Crack On, 5th, 7f novice stakes
Having been too free on debut Clive Cox's colt settled much better, tracking favourite Elwazir. Although unable to land a blow when those ahead quickened, he stuck to his task well to be beaten four lengths – there was a further four lengths back to the sixth. The race should produce winners and he can go close on his next couple of starts.

Al Muffrih, 3rd, 1m novice stakes
The winner of the race, Knight To Behold, is considered a Derby type, and the form looks strong. Al Muffrih is well regarded by trainer William Haggas, and this was a pleasing introduction. The first and second had previous experience, which told in the closing stages, but the son of Sea The Stars should be winning when next seen, either this season or next.
