Three-horse trainer Paudie Butler bags more glory with his stable star
Saturday: Gowran Park
Paudie Butler may only have three horses in his stable but when one of those is as good as Da Capo Glory it helps keep the operation in lights.
Da Capo Glory may not have been a match for Facile Vega in the Grade 2 bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival but he confirmed himself a smart recruit to hurdles under Darragh Allen.
Butler, who works in a pharmaceutical factory in Brinny full-time and operates on a restricted licence from his base in County Cork, has now bagged as many wins as he has horses, with previous bumper scorer Da Capo Glory the undoubted star of the operation.
He said: "Da Capo Glory ran a great race behind Facile Vega at Leopardstown. It would be great to see Facile Vega go on and win the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.
"He's a special horse and he jumps very well. His dam is a full-sister to God's Own so he's a nicely bred horse. We might go for a novice in about a month’s time."
Butler added: "I'll discuss plans with the lads. There’s five of us involved with him so we'll make a plan. We've only three in training. Fons Vivus won a bumper for us and this lad is after winning two so they're keeping us going."
