Alan King shunned the Pimm’s and pomp of Goodwood for a more familiar territory and Warwick once again proved a happy hunting ground for the trainer, who scored with both his runners on the card.

Although renowned as a trainer of top-class jumpers, King’s Flat string has grown to 50 this season and the trainer was represented with War Chief at Goodwood.

While he managed third, Talkischeap in the 2m3f novice hurdle and Midnight Cowboy in the 2m4f handicap chase for novices, made it 26 winners at Warwick over the past five seasons for the trainer.
