It is the final Ascot fixture before next month's royal meeting, yet even before the card begins there is an awful lot to report.

Most dramatically a lorry punctures a water hydrant at Swinley Bottom, creating a spectacular new fountain clerk of the course Chris Stickels decides to scrap almost immediately.
