Tale of two Foxes as Ewart veteran Civil Unrest shows rivals the way home

While it was a painful day for Derek Fox, whose fall in the 2m1f handicap hurdle led to the dramatic voiding of the race, his cousin Steven Fox fared better as he continued his fruitful partnership with 12-year-old Civil Unrest.

Not many horses remain in peak form at such an age but the James Ewart-trained stalwart showed he was no back-number with a game success in the 2m1½f handicap chase.

"He's been a great horse for me as that's the fourth time I've won on him," said the conditional rider, who has recently completed his first full season with Ewart.
