Switch to jumps is thrilling Curtis

The response came nimbly when Ned Curtis considered the pluses of his new life as a jump jockey.

“Not sweating and not wasting,” said the 21-year-old, who had just jumped off Divine Spear, his first winner over obstacles since switching from the Flat with its demand to be pin thin.

“It means I can concentrate more on my riding than my weight, which is a huge help, and I’m enjoying the job. And I could have Christmas dinner this year.”
