The well-related Sun Maiden galloped herself into the picture for the Investec Oaks at Epsom with an impressive performance in the first division of the 1m2f fillies’ novice stakes.

Sir Michael Stoute’s charge had shown a degree of promise on her only previous start at Wolverhampton last December and obviously benefited for the outing as she was much more professional on her first try on turf.

When asked to go about her business a quarter of a mile from home by Pat Dobbs, the result was fairly immediate as she quickly stretched well clear of White Light to record a 12-length victory.
