A maiden at Newcastle is a long way from the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly, but there was a good omen for the team behind market leader Postponed in the victory of Sun Lover.
Another short-priced favourite trained by Roger Varian for Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum and ridden by Andrea Atzeni, the even-money shot scored by a determined half-length.
