Stewards deny Dettori hat-trick as Raheen House is promoted to first

Arc winner Frankie Dettori celebrated his return to the domestic scene by passing the post first on all of his three rides, but the stewards denied him his hat-trick after Weekender had landed the feature Noel Murless Stakes from St Leger disappointment Raheen House.

Raheen House was laying down a strong challenge on the outside when Weekender deviated left under Dettori's right-hand drive with just three or four strides to go, and having looked set to win by a head or more he went down by a nose.

Dettori, who had been buzzing earlier on, looked almost resigned to losing the race, while Raheen House's rider Jamie Spencer went into the inquiry full of optimism.
