Double Whammy’s potent staying powers helped him emerge from the injury wilderness to scoop the biggest prize on ladies’ day in the Scottish Borders.

The 11-year-old was tapped for pace as Ash Park forged into a clear lead but reeled in the leader under Ross Chapman at the final fence to score by three and a half lengths in the £20,000 3m2f handicap chase.

Anseanachai Cliste, who is the subject of an ongoing BHA investigation after not being allowed to run in the Foxhunter Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, was sent off 3-1 favourite but finished a well beaten sixth.
