In many ways the 2022 Galway Hurdle was all about the resurgence of careers.

A return to the big time hadn't looked on the cards for Tudor City after failing to place in his ten hurdles starts that followed a win in the race three years ago. Not at the age of ten.

Nearly seven years had passed since Liam McKenna showcased his potential with a Cheltenham November meeting success aboard Unowhatimeanharry, but the fact his 7lb claim is still intact demonstrates that winners have not flowed as freely as might have been expected since then.
