Some comeback as Buckle scores in style to raise hope of bigger success ahead

After a year off Some Buckle bounced back to winning ways when taking the feature 2m5f handicap chase in style, proving to be yet another winner for owner Roger Brookhouse.

The Tom George-trained nine-year-old was always in the front rank and took a definite advantage from the sixth fence before coasting clear for an unchallenged nine-length victory over Dream Bolt.

Explaining the horse’s absence, George said: “He was just not quite right last autumn, so I sent him back to Roger’s place before he returned to the yard earlier this year. We obviously hoped he would run well as he'd been working fine.
