Soliloquy states her case for Guineas role – but Veracious is in the wings

It was not quite a one-woman show, but Soliloquy made a strong case for a Classic role next month with her success in the Landwades Stud Nell Gwyn.

It was the standout performance of the fillies on stage at Newmarket, although some off-stage antics before racing could hold as much importance in just under three weeks time.

Aidan O'Brien could still be holding the aces according to the form book but Soliloquy showed herself to have developed from two to three and looks ready for the next step up with a comprehensive defeat of the Oh So Sharp Stakes winner Altyn Orda.
