Jockey James Best ended a run of 25 consecutive losers at the West Wales outpost in devastating fashion when Solighoster made an impressive chasing debut in the 3m novices' chase.

Best travelled along the M4 for just the one ride and made no mistake when driving out the one-time useful hurdler to a 14-length triumph over Joe Farrell.

The feature of the race was a gamble on the Evan Williams-trained Bronco Billy (6-4 favourite from 7-2) but he could never land a blow.
