Goobinator earned an opening quote of 25-1 with Paddy Power for the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle after a bold front-running victory at Carlisle but trainer Donald McCain is eyeing longer-term targets for the imposing son of Noble Mission.

A winner on the Fibresand at Southwell in November, the Tim Leslie-owned four-year-old has been seen to good effect since switching to hurdles and was taking his record to two wins from three starts over jumps under champion jockey favourite Brian Hughes in the 2m1f novice hurdle.

Bought, like Grade 2-winning stablemate Navajo Pass, as a yearling by Leslie, Goobinator is a horse for the future, according to his trainer.
