Malcolm Jefferson's excellent run of form continued on Monday when Mr Monochrome landed the 2m novices' hurdle under Brian Hughes to bring the trainer's record in the past fortnight to six winners from 12 runners.

"He's a half-brother to Attaglance so he needs two and a half miles and we will step him up next time," Jefferson said. "We like him and he maybe should have won two bumpers instead of one."

Hughes kept his hot-streak going when completing a double on Fair Loch, who bounded 11 lengths clear of his rivals in the 2m handicap chase to run out the easiest winner on the card.
