Skelton eyes big handicaps following Taffs impressive feature win

You don't spend nine years as assistant to Paul Nicholls without learning about the riches on offer at the Scottish Grand National meeting, and Dan Skelton has put his knowledge to good use.

He had three winners here last year and 12 months on he landed the £50,000 feature event on the opening afternoon with the returning Two Taffs.

The 3-1 favourite had been beaten in four previous chases but was third in the novice handicap at the Cheltenham Festival – where he was hampered at the eighth fence – and scored a decisive three-length success over experienced handicappers.
