Shoot To Kill hits target again for his new trainer Robyn Brisland
Robyn Brisland praised Shoot To Kill's former trainer George Scott after his new recruit maintained his unbeaten record since switching yards with a hard-fought success in the 1m½f handicap.
The four-year-old joined Brisland's Hampshire yard from the sales in the autumn and backed up his stable debut win at Lingfield in late November when he held on for a head victory here under Darragh Keenan.
Brisland said: "Mr Scott did all the work for me really. I haven't done an awful lot with him – he's been training himself and seems as though he's loved a change of scenery. He does everything well at home."
Shoot To Kill was trying the longest trip he has faced in his career and Brisland hopes his versatility will lead to plenty of options.
He added: "It looks as though he's got the step up in trip. I think he might have a bright future."
Watson on winning run
Jason Watson continued his impressive form in the saddle with his 11th winner in the past fortnight when Q Twenty Boy landed the 5f handicap.
Watson, who split from Roger Charlton as stable jockey this year, took his recent strike-rate to 24 per cent with the Mark Usher-trained six-year-old's half-length success.
Fanshawe's flying form
Fresh from striking on Southwell's new Tapeta surface on Tuesday evening, James Fanshawe notched his third winner from his last six runners when Greek Flame held on by a short head in the feature 1m1½f novice.
