'She loves the track' - Woodlands Charm continues red-hot campaign for Tinkler
Wednesday: Catterick
Woodlands Charm maintained her perfect record at the North Yorkshire track and continued her successful spree when running out an impressive winner of the 6f fillies’ handicap.
The Nigel Tinkler-trained three-year-old was successful over course and distance last season and picked up a third win of the campaign with an easy two-and-a-quarter-length success under Rowan Scott.
"She loves the track, but I think a lot of the horses she ran against were exposed," Tinkler said. "It probably wasn't the greatest race, but it's great as she's won for a joint-partnership with Woodlands Racing and Middleham Park.
"We'll try to keep her in her age group for as long as we can and that's why we've travelled her to the likes of Goodwood and Windsor previously.
"The three-year-old races become a bit drier at this time of the year but she's now won five races already, which is lovely. She's absolutely brilliant."
Her win also kept up the North Yorkshire trainer's impressive run of form, taking Tinkler's strike-rate to 23 per cent in the last fortnight.
Double delight
Trainer Simon Whitaker and jockey Phil Dennis enjoyed a quickfire 83-1 double when taking both divisions of the 7f handicap.
Round The Island caused a mild surprise at 11-1 in the opening division before 6-1 shot Liberty Breeze stormed to success in the second division half an hour later.
No more doom
Doomsday broke his maiden tag at the 11th attempt with a brave victory in the other 7f handicap on the card.
