Aidan O'Brien is becoming a tad forgetful but his training prowess is in no way diminished. That was made clear yesterday when, one day after smashing the British record for a trainer's seasonal prize-money haul, he further swelled his annual earnings with the handsome victory of Seventh Heaven in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks.

The money bagged by Juddmonte International second Highland Reel took the master of Ballydoyle past John Gosden's previous British 2015 best of £5,300,553.

Having also supplied Yorkshire Oaks runner-up Found and fourth-placed Pretty Perfect, O'Brien is already closing in on the £6 million mark.
