Aisling Oscar continued his remarkable rise for Adrian Keatley when recording a seventh consecutive victory for the red-hot trainer at Newcastle on Thursday evening.

The victory continued Keatley’s own remarkable form, with the North Yorkshire-based trainer having won with his last seven runners, three of them being Aisling Oscar, in a run that started on January 9. He is operating at an 88 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight.

The five-year-old only joined the yard in October from Craig O’Neill, but has quickly reeled off seven wins – all in handicaps – following a third-place finish at Wolverhampton on his stable debut in November.

All of Aisling Oscar's successes have come at Newcastle, with his half-length defeat of Goldmoyne as 15-8 favourite in the concluding 7f handicap coming just two days after his previous success.

Winning jockey Conor Whiteley said: "There aren’t many horses who have done that. He’s done it well, but he probably travelled a touch stronger than I thought as they went a good, decent gallop, but he’s a trier, and when he gets his head down, he stays galloping.

"You feel like he’s improving every time since I last rode him, and since he’s won again. I feel like he’s improved, so hopefully he can keep going."

Speaking to Sky Sports Racing, Whiteley added: "I don’t know what Adrian will do now, so we’ll leave that down to him, but every time he steps up, he tries his hardest. I’ve definitely got a strong feeling he’ll go close again on his next run."

Classic-winning trainer Keatley could make it a brilliant eight wins on the spin in Dubai on Friday, when he saddles Kihavah in the Group 3 Al Khail Trophy (6.10) at Meydan.

The nine-year-old, who finished fifth at the track this month, seeks his first victory since landing the Queen’s Cup at Musselburgh in April.
