Johnny Murtagh has been showing ITV viewers what an incisive pundit he is during the first two days of York's Ebor meeting, but Passionatta served a reminder the former top jockey is just as capable when it comes to training as she won the 5f handicap.

A five-time champion jockey in Ireland, Murtagh plundered some of the sport's biggest prizes during his time in the saddle, but retired in 2013 to concentrate on his training career.

He ferried his first ever runners to the track from his County Kildare base and was rewarded when Passionatta – like the rest of the raiders ridden by David Probert – made all in a first-time visor.
