Saunders on right track to his best season as Coronation shines

We all know about horses for courses but how about trainers for tracks? Malcolm Saunders fits that bill ideally and he saddled yet another winner on Lansdown Hill when Coronation Cottage landed the 5½f fillies’ handicap.

Saunders, who is based around ten miles from the course, said: “We've now had 11 winners this season and I think eight of them have been here. I don’t know why that's the case but I'm certainly not moaning about it.

“I used to think it was the short journey in the horsebox that made the difference but the simple truth is the course frame races that suit the type of 60-rated horse we have at home. We cannot compete with the big yards at the sales and all of ours are homebreds.”
