San Seb announced himself as a smart prospect with an emphatic success on his hurdling debut for trainer Stuart Edmunds.

Owned by the Riverport Racehorse Association, San Seb had finished third and ninth in two bumper runs at Huntingdon, but took a notable step forward in this juvenile contest, leaving even-money favourite Song For Someone trailing 11 lengths behind in second.

It was a polished round of jumping from the three-year-old under Ciaran Gethings, and Edmunds, who has had notable victories with the likes of Wolf Of Windlesham in juvenile hurdles before, said of his 20-1 winner: "His first run in a bumper was quite nice but I can’t explain the second run.
