Seven-year-old Royal Brave rolled back the years when gaining a dramatic win under a brilliant ride by Danny Tudhope in the 5f handicap, evoking memories of dual Nunthorpe winner Borderlescott.

Like Borderlescott, he runs in the blue and red stars of owners James Edgar and William Donaldson and is trained at Goosemoor Farm near Wetherby.

Robin Bastiman was in charge in his day, now his daughter Rebecca has become the third generation of the family to hold the licence there.
