They say a change is as good as a rest and The Romford Pele proved it with victory on his first start for trainer Tom George in the 3m1f veterans' handicap chase.

The main objective of the veteran's series is to afford old-timers greater opportunities and the ten-year-old seized his chance by winning his first chase for three years in a competitive 16-runner contest, which was a great advert for the initiative.

Formerly with Rebecca Curtis, The Romford Pele, who was campaigned over hurdles last season, warmed to his task to make the most of front-running Gas Line Boy's fall three fences from home.
