Reformed Orewa cleans up his act to earn trip to Ireland

Were he a human Orewa would probably be banned from the racecourse for hooliganism. Instead he has been given a gelding operation which has reformed him, for he returned to action to make it three wins from three starts at the track when coming from last to first off a strong gallop to win the 5f nursery under Ben Curtis.

Trainer Brian Ellison said: "After the second time he won here he tried to jump over the door of his stable to get at some mares, in fact he got stuck on the top of it. Then after he was third to Yalta at Pontefract he tried to do the same but they have high doors there so he couldn't manage to do it. As he was such a laddo we hadn't much option but to geld him, and we also tightened up his wind.
