Cap York struck for the first time over fences and provided 23-year-old Eoin Walsh with the biggest win of his career in the Mansionbet Leinster National at Naas.

Gigginstown House Stud's eight-year-old was running in his sixth chase and trainer Noel Meade said: "Cap York has always had a lot of ability but he's a bit quirky and can switch off in his races and not do a lot.

The 11-1 shot got the better of the front-running Cheb De Kerviniou by one and a half lengths and Meade added:"I told Eoin to get him away quickly and to give him plenty of encouragement.
