John Quinn returned to his roots and landed his first jumps winner for more than a year with First Impression.

Quinn rode nearly 200 National Hunt winners as a jockey and has enjoyed plenty of success as a trainer, scoring at the Cheltenham Festival with Character Building and Countrywide Flame.

But his Malton yard is tilted more towards the Flat nowadays and First Impression provided Quinn with his first jumps winner for 385 days when landing the juvenile maiden hurdle under Brian Hughes.
