The Paul Webber-trained Triggitas will have plenty of admirers at next month’s Ascot Sales after a remarkable performance to be third in the 2m maiden hurdle after an absence of 692 days.

The 50-1 chance was first off the bridle but came through strongly at the death to be third to jumping newcomer Ocean Jive.

Webber said: “He's a big unit but that was very pleasing. The only problem is that he's now off to the Ascot Sales. They said he was a bleeder but we've never had any problems and he'll jump a fence."
