The two-mile chasing division is probably as exciting as it has ever been this coming season with Douvan and Altior set to do battle at some stage.

However, if looking for an improver that could do some damage in graded company at that trip, one could do worse than look at the credentials of Ballyoisin as he carried top-weight in the feature Grade B handicap chase to an effortless success.

It was a race that also advertised how well 7lb claimer Donie McInerney is riding. He oozed confidence and spent almost as much time looking around for dangers in the straight as he did looking in front of him.
