Pony fails to do his job but Admiral's Secret still sails in

Admiral's Secret could possibly be the only jumps horse in Britain that is ponied to post but the approach has paid off in recent weeks and he completed back-to-back wins in the 2m4f Challenger Middle Distance Chase Qualifier.

Victor Dartnall’s quirky sort was sent off 9-4 co-favourite of three in a four-runner line up and was ridden cold by Alan Johns before scoring from Molineaux.

A previous winner at Leicester, Admiral’s Secret looks to have turned a corner over the winter and was a solid winner. Johns said: “He’s been hunting and doing different things and we are now bringing a happy horse to the races.
