Politologue camp leave Cheltenham buoyed for Tingle Creek rematch with Defi
The Politologue camp will head to next month's Tingle Creek confident they can reverse form with their Shloer Chase conqueror Defi Du Seuil.
There was a length and a quarter in it at the line with Defi Du Seuil jumping the last behind and yet clearly on top come the line, but he was also getting 3lb and that encouraged connections of the runner-up.
Politologue won the 2017 edition of the Sandown Grade 1 and did not contest last year's renewal won by Altior. Asked if the horse could reverse form and win the race again, leading owner John Hales said: "I believe so. Conditions were slightly against us today although he goes in that ground. We did all the work from the start and that's a good debut, they'll go a faster pace in the Tingle Creek and that will be to our benefit."
