The thriving Middleham Park Racing empire got their first juvenile winner of 2019 on the board when Ventura Rebel came late to land division two of the 5f maiden.

Richard Fahey's runner Kidda had been backed to win the first division and could only finish fifth, but it wasn't long before the trainer gained compensation as Ventura Rebel stayed on well to win cosily half an hour later.

The 11-4 chance could well make up into a Royal Ascot horse after overcoming favourite Jm Jackson, who was out to give Mark Johnston a double after fellow newcomer Xcelente had won the opener.
